Fill your glass with ice, add 1 ½ oz rum and top off with Coca-Cola.  Garnish with a wedge of lemon.

The authentic drink is made with light rum


This drink is associated with mid-20th century Cuba…
 

 
 
1 ½ -2 oz simple syrup  (3 parts water, 1 part sugar.  Bring to a boil, set aside and cool.)
1 ½ -2 oz fresh lime juice
1 ½ -2 oz light rum
1 sprig of fresh mint leaves

 

 

Fill your glass with ice and add ingredients.  Stir, lightly crushing the mint into the ice cubes.
