Summer Easy

A shrimp boil is simple, fun and delicious! Cover your picnic table with packing paper and dump all the ingredients in the middle from the cooking pot. Have different mustards and cocktail sauces......being a diva has never been so easy.

For a small or large group of people, a shrimp boil is festive. Using a propane heated pot is the ticket. It is an investment but you will use it over and over.

I recommend buying good quality fresh, large shrimp and hand made sausages. Be adventurous with the mustards and cocktail sauces. There are so many types available at the grocery.

I buy newsprint packing paper and cover the table, overlapping the edges. When the shrimp boil is ready, dump the contents in the middle. No plates needed. When you are done, wrap everything and dispose easily! This feast has become a tradition for summer birthdays.

Shrimp Boil

Quantity per person: 1/2 lb raw in shell shrimp, 1/2 lb polish or Keilbasa sausage, 3 small red potatoes, 1 ear of corn, juice from 2 lemons, cloves of garlic, cayenne, pepper, bay leaves, tabasco, black pepper, and Old Bay Seasoning. Fill kettle w/water and season.

Bring to a boil, add potatoes, cook 10 minutes. Add sausage. When potatoes are tender, add the corn. Bring to a boil, add shrimp. Cook a few minutes until pink.
